Our Team
Daniel "Tino" Xue
Daniel is a professional violinist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and the Founder and Creative Director of West Texas String Quartet, providing live chamber music for weddings and private events across West Texas. His work has been featured at venues including the Buddy Holly Hall, the Petroleum Club of Midland, Adelphos Cellars, and Madewell Estates.
Alongside his performance career, Daniel supports philanthropic and music therapy initiatives through organizations including the Junior League of Midland, the Southwest Parkinson Society, the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, and the Garrison Institute on Aging.
Rodrigo Cabrera
Rodrigo is a professional violinist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra, Amarillo Symphony Orchestra, and New Texas Sinfonia. Throughout his musical career, he has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists including Yo-Yo Ma and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Corigliano.
Marian Herrero
Marian is a professional violist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. She holds a Master’s degree in performance from the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland, where she studied with Silvia Simionescu, in addition to a Baroque Viola Minor under David Plantier. Marian is a prize-winning chamber musician, having earned first place in both the Hazen Chamber Music Competition and the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid Chamber Music Competition. Alongside her orchestral and chamber music career, she has performed viola and piano recitals internationally at venues and festivals throughout Spain, including Sevilla Auditorium, Zaragoza Auditorium, Sierra Musical, and Festival Liceo Glinka in Madrid.

Yes, as long as weather permits (if not rainy, windy, or excessively sunny).
Because we perform sitting down, we kindly request four armless chairs. Please let us know if this is not possible and we can provide them if necessary.
Typically men will wear a black tuxedo and women will wear a black dress.
In general, if you book us for more than 2 hours, we would kindly ask if you could prepare some light refreshments as we will take a short break. We understand if this requirement cannot be met, but please let us know so we can make necessary arrangements.
Yes we should be able to, however ideally we will need to get in touch with them and have a rehearsal on the day before the event.
There are two violins, one viola, and one cello.
We typically take a 5 minute break every hour.
We request that the selections be finalized at least two weeks prior to the event as we need to rehearse the repertoire. If you have any special requests please let us know as soon as possible. If possible we request that the music selections be printed in the event programme pamphlet.
Yes, we are flexible and can accommodate your preferences. If you would like a soloist, we could arrange that with your choice of either violin, viola, or cello. Typically, for a duet we would arrange for two violins, or a violin and a cello. However, keep in mind that most wedding repertoire is written to be performed by a complete string quartet.
